Prairie Wetlands Pond Visit

It was a beautiful day at the Prairie.....we collected living things from the pond.  We listened and watched for other living things.  We saw a striped gopher and lots of birds and flying insects.  There was a peaceful chirping sound.  We learned that we should not pick living plants at the Prairie or touch the living things that go back in the water.  Thank you to the adults who were able to join us.

Leprechaun Fun

Our learning was "different" today....we searched for the Leprechaun with words and numbers and puppets and stories.  All we could find was "pickles" and "green grapes" in our trap.  The Kenyon family visited to bring us treats and check out the traps.......no luck today.  I believe the Leprechaun went back to Ireland ......We searched the internet to see real pictures of Irish castles and sheep and grass roof houses and oceans and big rocks and violin and bagpipe players.........it really is a REAL place!

The Three Bears

Everyone took turns being a character in The Three Bears........the best performances took place after the real moment when some chose to "do it again" on their own during playtime.  The best narrating and drama happens when nobody is watching........it was charming.

Celebrating Dr. Seuss

We had colorful fun celebrating the Birthday of Dr. Seuss.  Much was learned about measuring, fractions, adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, mixing colors, telling time, rhyming words, how much is a dozen, how temperature changes matter, and cleaning up a mess........and it all happened in Miss Mary's room making the cake that we all had to bake with real color, not fake!

More than PLAY
